19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first title since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after that period of that year.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an better service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
He defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
