The British government is set to progress with utilizing the full worth of seized Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.

British restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian assets since Russia began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had solely been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to drive progress toward using the full value of the seized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement is subsequent to European officials gathered in the Danish capital recently to discuss employing immobilized Russian funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to seize or otherwise use frozen Russian assets, as reported by news outlets.

The value of immobilized Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government executed widespread missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on that day, causing blackouts in large parts of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

Several persons were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the assault, the Ukrainian government said.

In a post on an online platform following the incident, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and implementing penalties," he emphasized.

"All penalty impositions diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told reporters he would urge Sir Keir to join the PURL programme, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the US to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the Britain's firm backing for Ukraine, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the initiative, as well as impose further sanctions on the Russian Federation.
